Version 2.0.0
I want to get through all three of my EctoComp entries quickly after it ended. I added fixes throughout the comp, both technical and narrative.
For Go Strange Ghost Range I managed to add half-right detection, and I want to do that for all three games by the end of the year,
But for the quick post-comp patch I wanted to get rid of the big bugs and also pull features that were only in one game to the other two. Here, I added an in-game map.
Version 2.0.0 published to Itch December 2, 2025. This information is taken from fixes.txt, which is downloadable.
--fixed graphical bug where X COIN ruined all future graphics
--in-game MAP, with red lines if HONE AYE is active
--rejects for half-right now track if it's something you already figured, whether you scored a point or not
--"here"/"at room" dynamic strings added to THINK cues
--THINK writes out # of discovered commands in words
--Nudge to THINK on first right words/wrong time guess
--alternate verbs for Ooze, wight and drought puzzles (wight rejected with hint, ooze and drought accepted)
--Inventory management
--it now tracks confidence you've gained (incorpreal "items") from the two puzzles in the east
--more explanation for why items destroyed.
--Liquid container now labeled as full/empty.
--special message when inventory is empty, both at the start and end
--fixed continuity error talking to the blokes. They now have a different response after you defeat the wight.
--tats are a bit blurry if you can't solve the relevant puzzle yet
--status line now shows (for example) 5+1 if you figured one point but didn't have the right prep yet. This info is also added to SCORE.
--Obfuscated correct first words of puzzle from Adventuron's "correct verb but not here" error
--VERBS now refers to HINTS
--silly easter egg for sign in Drought after fixing area north of it (it could read something else)
--expanded HISTORY with, of course, the second version number
--text colors made more uniform by purpose
